Five and not Sive!!!

5.....That's a big number! When did our lil girl grow so fast? I can still hear you saying "sive" for "five"....When did you grow out of that? I think it all happened in a blink! I'm still in denial and hence the delayed yearly post. Its been 2.5 months since you turned 5 and since then it has been on my mind always that I should write this post but the denial part of me kept postponing.

If I had to use a single word to describe your fifth year I would choose the word "adventurous". You were introduced to several new things this past year and you came out doing well in all of them.We started you off with Kumon and it did you good. You can read very well now and it is such a joy to see you read. Same goes with your math skills. We pretty much knew you were going to do well in those areas but what shocked us the most is how you took up swimming. It was a pain taking you to swim lessons every saturday morning and then almost everyday in summer for few months. But it all paid off....you took to water like a fish! This year also earned you a few other badges :- two Tae Kwon Do belts and excellent reading skills.

Another beautiful thing this year was to watch you forming a very close bond with your brother. You guys play together all the time and he follows you everywhere like a puppy. You have your bad moments too where he pulls your hair and you come to us screaming your head off. But the amazing thing is how he cries his heart out if we yell at you or spank you. He will question us very angrily "mama why did you do adi to my sister"...hehehhe. It is so adorable.

This year mama wanted to do a Princess Birthday party for you. I planned for months and thank God it was a beautiful party. The decorations,food,games,goody-bags everything was so pink and princessy. Princess Jasmine (your favorite) came to your party and you had a wonderful time singing and face painting with her and all your friends from your Pre-K class.Your request was for a tiara cake which mama was able to pull off quite well.Dada,Buwa, ammamma, chechiamma, suma amma were all there to help me with everything.

School is still a lot of fun for you. You adore Mrs.Mazella and Mrs.Delaney. Your besties are Teagan and Abbey. One thing I want to jot down for memory sake is your frequent falls and accidents. Its a joke in the family. In a day you will fall down or bump yourself at least few times.Even though you cry your heart out we cant help laughing!!!You are still a picky eater but much better than earlier. You have a better appetite now for at least the things you love. You still dont like going to bed early, love watching movies, doing puzzles, playing outside and making cards and little notes for everybody. Dada is still your biggest fan and you both worship each other (much to my annoyance)! You are a beautiful child and we couldnt ask for a better daughter! Love you kannamma.
